Poetry: Thief of Hearts
Pull your Card!
Reveal!
The Thief of Hearts
With a Rose in his Mouth
He Storms into our houses when sun, there is no more
With his charm he steals away
The hearts of Young Maidens
Cloaked in a Bloodied Red
He appears from the Night
With Rapier in hand
He does away with those who stand against him
The Thief of Hearts
A Hero, A Convict
Leaves his mark
Upon his face
A Black Mask is worn
Covering all but his mouth
Which always carries a Rose
Thief of Hearts
Fights against all Odds
Changing the Hearts of Many
He Plants the seed of Revolution
Thief of Hearts
You who takes what you want
Do you see the Young Maidens sigh as you pass by?
Or do you steal a kiss without a thought?
Letters of Romance
Attached with string to a Rose
Found throughout the Land
A treasure for every girl who receives
Thief of Hearts
Motives Unclear
What is your plan?
What is your purpose?
Thief of Hearts
You who never appears in the day
Protector of the Weak
Defender of the Poor
Shows his face when needed
The Fortune he takes, but never keeps
Thief of Hearts
Why do you fight?
Money?
Power?
Surely, nothing such as those
Is it Revenge?
Thief of Hearts
Draws his sword
Cutting down those who stand against him
“Stand Down, Romancer!”
Thief of Hearts
Caught in a Trap
Does Not Stand Down
Thief of Hearts
Set Ablaze
Where have you gone off to now?
Surely you have reached the Grave
Thief of Hearts
Where’s your mark?
Thief of Hearts
Do you not hear the Young Maidens weeping for you?
Thief of Hearts
The Spark of Revolution
The Thief of Hearts
Never shows within the day
The Thief of Hearts
Your letter appears after your own Execution
Thief of Hearts
“Show your Card
The Thief of Hearts
Brings forth a Revolution”
Thief of Hearts
Comes forth in Day

Love it – I love poems with a story, I have trouble writing them myself, but you’ve done it wonderfully. I couldnt help but picture Tuxedo Mask when I read it though – maybe he’s a romancer too. A wonderful poem, it struck me as an anti-hero, which is in my opinion, the best kind of hero. Thank you for sharing! :)

I’m Glad you enjoyed it, and Thank You for the compliments. ^^ Also as I have said in an earlier reply, I have not a clue(Other than my poem makes people think of him) as to what this Tuxedo Mask is like. Well, Thank You for reading. ^^

I wonder what revolution that he seek. IMHO, he is the “hero” of women, stole kiss from them, executed by his action. What did he seek? A revolution: a lesson for women, was he really a sleek thief, or were the women who didn’t guard their own hearts? Ahaha, strange opinion, I bet it is different from yours original idea. ^^
Great. ^^ Happy rally.

I love the way you structured this, so it began with the pulling of a tarot card and that led into a series of vignette stories based on the figure pulled. An interesting and unusual way to pull the poem from the thought. Thanks for sharing!

Tarot card, hmm I actually never thought about it that way. Thank you for commenting. ^^
