Poetry: Under the Cherry Blossom
As a day ends, the sunset, can be observed
The Beautiful scenery which passes in time
But eyes unworthy, truly do watch
The light breeze which brushes past my face
Cool and refreshing it sends no chill
Atop that hill I stood as I watched the sun fall from it’s place on high
Whatever things may come from this point
Whatever may happen next
In the next few pages of this story
The contentment which I have felt in this moment
Cannot possibly be forgotten
A Peaceful Solace
Let me draw some breath underneath a Cherry Blossom Tree
A sweetness in the air, allow me to enjoy, just one last time
A ward against sadness
The setting sun, off in the distance
It is almost past the horizon line, and the darkness of night can be seen
The softly fading light…
A sleep so gentle
Rest in Peace, with a smile on your face
Let the Light of the Moon, shine your way
To a Tranquility like that of before

A poem written with Isshi(May he Rest in Peace) in Mind, as I listened to Irodori no Sanka. It came out exactly as I wanted. I tried hiding the emotions in it, but also at the same time, tried projecting them onto you, if that makes sense. I guess, like, make you feel something, without the words for that feeling quite in the poem… Well I hope you liked it.
incredible imaginations, well done.

the theme is sure different from what i’ve wrote about, in my opinion. :) but its up to the reader to interpret poetry, based on their experiences and views. what i feel written in your poem is a foreboding of a future which might not be happy. the poet recalls events which conflict with the peaceful nature of cherry blossoms. might be a deep sadness. the ending brings a sense of calm which finally goes together with what cherry blossoms stand for. graceful and peaceful.
a well written poem with ability to paint pictures. excellent work i would say. and finally everything comes down to simply enjoying and sharing poetry just for the sake of art. keep writing.

Indeed it is. Your thoughts are most appreciated. I must say you got the thought behind this poem pretty ell, although at a somewhat different angle. Once more, Thank You.

Hello.
My first visit here from The Poetry Palace.
To me, there’s a hint of sadness and also a sense of something ominous.
Whatever the case may be, still a pleasure to read.
Thanks for sharing.

First of all, I’m sorry for the loss of your friend (Isshi). I felt some peaceful resolve in this and a wish that the departed be at peace as well. The emotion is (for me) undoubtedly one of sadness and wistfulness.

Well Isshi wasn’t really a friend but more of a source of inspiration and someone I looked up to(sort of like a hero). So it was a bit sad when I learned that he passed away. (Isshi was the vocalist for the Band Kagrra, here’s a song by them: Utakata But, alas Thank you for your thoughts.
